J.P. Morgan, the world’s largest asset management organisation has sponsored a number of events over the years, one being the “Round the Island Race” which has raised more than £600,000 for charity.
On the 25th June a group of brave fundraisers will be meeting on the south coast in preparation of this historic event which will commence on the subsequent Saturday.
The aforementioned fundraisers will be forming part of Team Boxmodel who will be racing in the Beneteau 40.7 yacht, one of the eight yacht in the Team Jackie flotilla. Team Jackie is the largest charitable team to enter in the history of the race and have received a great deal of support from JP Morgan.
Mark Richardson, the founder of Team Jackie lost his wife to cancer in 2014 and the Keech Hospice inspired him to challenge fellow Saracens Rugby team mates to assist in raising money for this great cause.
Boxmodel COO, Paul Hutton has been at the core of the developments and one of the Team Boxmodel captains, Flynn Hutton is Paul’s 9 year old son. Flynn is no stranger to sailing having gained his sea legs at the age of 5. Flynn is one of the youngest to ever compete in this race and a great ambassador of the Keech Hospice and their principles for his generation. Other team members will include past and present rugby players coupled with celebrities and other professional sportsmen and women. Names of the celebrities and the professional sportsmen and women will remain undisclosed until nearer the time of the event.
Paul Hutton commented “It’s a great honour to be part of this event and even more so to have a yacht for Team Boxmodel. The fund raising is for a worthy cause and during the race campaign I was taken for a tour of the hospice. Words cannot describe the great work that the staff do there!”
Team Boxmodel have already reached their target for donations 50 days ahead of schedule and are now determined to double the amount. Please visit www.teamjackierich.com to make a donation and find out more about this great event.
